Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone

When you want to make a change something you must step outside your comfort zone to do so.

There’s no room for adventure and excitement in your comfort zone; in fact, over time you might feel overwhelmed and trapped by boredom, fear, depression or loss of ones self. Stepping outside your comfort zone at first is very scary. It’s the #1 reason why most adults do not reach their dreams. Your comfort zone is comfortable because it’s where you know what to expect. Going out on a limb can be scary because you might fail. You might lose something. But you might also gain something, huh? In order to become comfortable with that uncertainty, you’ll need to practice the following.

  • Live in the moment: let go of your attachment to a certain outcome and focus on the journey.
  • Acceptance: When things don’t go your way, don’t take it as failure instead take it as lesson learned and shrug it off.
  • Unknown: Learn how to enjoy the unknown. When was the last time you were excited about something that was going to happen next.
Don’t confuse stepping out of your comfort zone with being reckless and stupid. There’s a difference between being reckless and accepting risks. You should know the risks, and decide to go through with the decision anyway, ready and willing to accept the consequences if things don’t work out.
