alt="Melanoma"This next post is going to be an overall summary of everything since having surgery for removal of the area around the melanoma and lymph nodes.
On February 25th I went into St David’s hospital at 7 am to get prepped for surgery that was scheduled for 11:15am. As to my surprise I was not as nervous as I thought I would be. I woke up feeling really positive about it all even though this would be the first time in my life I was going under for a surgery.
The nurses were very friendly and even were cracking jokes with me. They got my humor which helped keep my nerves down.IMG_3776

About 9:30am I went into radiology to have the Lymphangiogram which took about 35 min. The only part that sucked was had to lay on my right side for one of the xrays which hurt like hell because my right clavicle is messed but that’s another story.

The last thing I remember before the surgery was the cool injection from the anesthesiologists. If you have ever had surgery then you know the cool feeling running thru your veins. 🙂 The next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room with a sling on my arm and feeling a bit groggy.

So recovery since the surgery has been a bit painful especially at the 3 inch incision point under the arm where they removed a few lymph nodes that IMG_3800attracted the melanoma. And it’s almost impossible to take a shower with a garbage bagged wrapped around my arm. LOL

As for the incision point on the arm it is bigger than I thought. Needless to say I am going to have a nice scar on my arm from this.

Thank you to everyone for all your prayers and shout outs. I am doing well and keeping my mind positive.

You better start thinking of a cool tattoo to put over the scar!
